SIS integrates sensor data to provide:
These features provide detection and assessment, integration, and rapid communication of emerging situations to all effected agencies or departments through a unified platform. Communication and response plans are associated with detected threat levels, concurrence of sensor reports, and historical data from your locale. The most powerful feature of SIS is its graphical depictions that convey a complete view of the situation for display in your operations or dispatch center. Plus, using web technology to provide the displays assures that all agencies or departments involved in the response get the same view of the situation wherever they are located, without specialized equipment. The demonstration links below show how communities large and small are presented by the SIS. Each status map or sensor table represents the sensor assets of the community with an automatic focus on the locale where sensors are alerting. The Seattle demonstration depicts a "dirty bomb" attack occurring near the King County Courthouse. The simulated attack begins on the hour, and every 15 minutes, and lasts about 7 minutes. The display automatically refreshes every 60 seconds, but can be refreshed manually using the web browser's controls.
Take a few moments to watch the simulation to see how effectively SIS presents the data. Keep in mind, while the event is unfolding, that notifications of operational plan activation are sent to your Team to initiate a planned response. Team members also have immediate access to online documents that detail the active response plan.
