Sensor
Health Indication
A 2mm green LED indicates sensor health by blinking with each update
received
from the sensor.
Audible Alert
1 kHz audible alert conveys alert urgency by a sequence of notes played
in
a 4/4 musical tempo. Each note correstponds to a level of
radiation intensity measured by the 4 thresholds of the RDU-18 Sensor.
Alert Lamp
A 22mm dia. LED lights in unison with the audible alert notes.
Radiation Hazard Indicators
Each RDU-18 radiation threshold is indicated with a 5mm LED on the
Alert
Display. From left to right the LEDs indicate:

Indicates the presence
of
unusual radiation above the statistical(1x10-6)
false alarm threshold for local background. |
Orange
|
Low
Radiation Hazard. Long term exposure, on
the order of days, will exceed regulatory limits for the public. |
Amber
|
Moderate Radiation
Hazard.
Short-term exposure, on the order of hours, will exceed regulatory
limits for the public. |
Red
|
High Radiation Hazard.
Immediate
action required to protect public safety. |
Alarm Cancel Button
A momentary contact pushbutton is provided on the front panel to
silence
the Audible Alert
and cancel Alert Lamp.
These alarms are cancelled
for the period of one minute. However, If the level of radiation
increases
above the next higher threshold, then the lamp and audible alarms will
be reactivated.
